PCES participated in the Career Connect: Employers' Forum and In-house Job Interview, organized by RBI

PCES and RBI conduct website orientation and in-house job interview session for persons with visual impairments in Quezon City (Sept 26–27, 2025).

Philippine Central Engagement Services, Inc. (PCES) actively joined in the two-day event organized by its partner, Resources for the Blind, Inc. (RBI), in collaboration with its well-known partners—the Nippon Foundation, Yayasan Mitra, NCDA, DOLE, Accenture, Thermo Fisher, Colas Rail Philippines, Sutherland, and Foundever. It was held last September 26–27, 2025, at Quezon City and focused on Inclusive Employment for People with Visual Impairment.

Inclusive Employment for Persons with Visual Impairment

In line with the theme Career Connect: Employer’s Forum Promoting Inclusive Employment for Persons with Visual Impairment, the event focused on the importance of promoting inclusive hiring of persons with visual impairments. On the second day, it featured the in-house job interview and the PCES–RBI Website Orientation.

Moreover, this event continued the advocacy initiated during the previous Career Connect held in Cebu City last July 17, where PCES also participated to promote inclusive employment.

Where to find Jobs for Persons with Visual Impairment

During the event, PCES COO, Leonel Herrera, quickly shared the PWD-e website with its best feature, a leveraging job matching platform for people with disabilities, including persons with visual impairment. Additionally, it has lots of different accessibility features which suit the needs of people with impaired vision.

Creating Inclusive Employment Workplaces

On the first day, the Employer’s Forum began with the Welcome Remarks delivered by Gary Zamora, President and Chairman of RBI Inc. It was followed by various talks from several individuals, including Mr. Kazuki Nakamura, Senior Program Officer, Nippon Foundation. Then, Dr. MNG Mani, Project Consultant, introduced the job directory.

Meanwhile, the workshop on creating inclusive employment workplaces was shared by Low Vision Consultant, Dr. Marilyn Joy Estaquio.

How Government Organizations Can Provide Support

In addition, NCDA and DOLE representatives, Dir. Dandy Victa and Ms. Myka Rose Trono, LMID, emphasized the need for more support from government organizations. They highlighted the importance of expanding opportunities for Persons With Disabilities with regards to employment opportunities.

Making History for Filipinos with Visual Impairment

The event also managed to make history as it released the first-ever job directory book for Filipinos with visual impairment and inclusive employers.

Furthermore, among the talks that had been shared were the Employer Insights, Best Practices on Hiring Individuals with Visual Impairments, Employers and Visual Impairment Employment Stories, and the Panel Discussion regarding the Success Stories of Employees with Visual Impairment.

PWD-E Orientation and In-House Job Interviews

The second day of activities focused on the orientation for the PWD-E website and a series of in-house job interviews. These were designed to expand access to employment opportunities for PVI.

Additionally, this collaborative effort underscores the shared commitment of RBI, PCES, and partner companies to advance workplace inclusivity. The event seeks to empower individuals with visual impairments by expanding employment opportunities through the collaboration of various organizations committed to advancing inclusivity in the workplace.
