“Our objective is to make PWD-E accessible to all persons with disabilities and we want to see more Deaf individuals successfully hired”
highlighted by Leo Herrera, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of PCES, Inc., during the pwd-e presentation with Philippine Federation of the Deaf (PFD) on September 24, 2025 at SM Mall of Asia (MOA).
The presentation centered on the discussion of how pwd-e works, and hope for collaborations.
Meanwhile, prior to the discussions, Victoria Sakilayan together with. Mariah Agbay, representatives from (PFD) raised concerns, regarding the interview process, specifically on how interviews will be conducted face-to-face or system-handled and recommend clearer, accessible video guidance for deaf applicants that are using the system.
In addition, both parties agreed to the need for orientation sessions prior to deployment with interpreters present to ensure inclusivity for Deaf participants.
Further, Agbay further emphasized relaying organizational concerns and suggestions to board members. She requested regular updates on development progress and offered to assist in accessibility testing. She also suggested recommending collaboration with other organizations when relevant.
In closing, Herrera announced plans for a dedicated Job Fair for Deaf applicants possibly on October 15. Leaders suggested scheduling additional sessions if needed and maintaining ongoing updates.
