PCES Inc., through the help of BJMP Tanza, BJMP CALABARZON, PESO Tanza, and the Department of Labor and Employment, successfully held the first-ever job fair for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) in November 2024. As a result, PDLs are directed to participating companies to apply and secure a job before their release.

Participating Companies and Employment Opportunities

Moreover, Ahnex Builder, HERU, JMD Personnel Management Solutions Corp., Kinben Work Masters Manpower Services Inc., MMA Competent Manpower and General Services Inc., and Natcorp Career Growth and Manpower Services joined the job fair. They were seeking manpower for their deployment and daily operations.

Among them was PESO Tanza Manager Sunshine Floradee Faith B. De Guzman. She invited companies to participate and, in addition, encouraged them to offer employment opportunities.

Government and Community Leaders’ Contributions

Furthermore, Mayor Yuri Pacumio and Vice Mayor SM Matro also showed their support. They sponsored the food and provided tents, tables, and chairs.

In addition, the Department of Interior and Local Government backed the event through Undersecretary Serafin P. Barreto’s encouraging words. He expressed support for PDLs and urged PCES to continue bringing impact.

Likewise, JSUPT Alvin I. Gavan, representing BJMPRO Cavite, delivered a motivational message for the cause. He reaffirmed that PDLs deserve a second chance.

Messages of Encouragement and the Call for Inclusive Reintegration

Lastly, PCES would like to thank Augusto ‘Daga’ Virgo, a former PDL, for sharing his experience as a reformed individual. His story inspired PDLs that it’s never too late to get back with their lives.

Previously, PCES signed a Memorandum of Agreement with BJMP to enhance employment opportunities for soon to be released PDLs. With collaborative effort, this event was made possible. Consequently, it ensured that the hopeful PDLs will be able to regain their life and re-enter society as dignified individuals through long-term and committed employment.

Through continuous work, PCES and other stakeholders aspire to create a world free from judgment and discrimination. This vision is not just for PDLs, but also for people with different circumstances.
